Did anyone else see Mark E. Smith on Newsnight last night (about the passing of John Peel)? *CRINGE* Really, really embarrassing. He got asked a couple of questions which he answered with literally one word, a grunt and a "who's stolen my teeth" expression. The news dood was a little bemused, so he started talking to this other guy (from the Undertones but not Feargal Sharkey), who was just saying some nice, appropriate things, and when he goes to ask Smith a question he goes "Can I speak now?"
Totally uncalled for. Even Von could be nicer. So yeah.. Mark E. Smith... a bastard.

I figure you guys know something about drugs (Miss Mineral Water here, don't forget), so do you think he was on something, or is he like that all the time?

Mark E has always struck me as a bit of a "professional Mancunian" type (and he probably wouldn't thank me for that description, as he always says he's from Salford, not Manchester)
