turntable query

For the last few nights I have been unable to play anything on my turntable, any advise on fxing the problem would be greatly appreciated.
the turntalbe is direct drive

Not much you can do about that.
I have the same problem with my cat. I have a Laptop at home, and as soon as I turn it on, my cat lays down on the keyboard. She loves the warm Laptop.
