Sisters Vinyls. Real ones for a change.

Whilst in town today, after buying the self-titled UK release by Suicide, I found a shop selling Sisters vinyls. Can you tell me if these are good prices?
Alice EP- £8.50 (Alice, Floorshow, Phantom, 1969)
Body And Soul- £8.50 (Body & Soul, Body Electric, Train, Afterhours)
Dominion- £8.50 (Dominion, Sandstorm, Untitled, Emma)
This Corrosion- £5 (This Corrosion, Torch, Colours)
I managed to have a nice conversation with the owner of the tiny shop, he told me everything after TOL85 could be found on CD, but he didn't have any. He then told me that anything rare would be hard to find anyway, like Body Electric, and that he sold his "The Damage Done" for £750, in mint condition, on the net. I was surprised to say the least.
So are they well priced? Should I go back soon and buy any of them?
Do tell. And in case Debaser gets there before me, the shop's identity will not be revealed.

off the top of my head, i'd say alice is a little overpriced - i'd expect to pay a fiver for a bog-standard uk issue/re-issue of that... corrosion and dominion are about right though i guess.
also, all the tracks on the alice ep are on SGWBM so apart from the lovely artwork and the joy of owning a piece of legit vinyl i dont think the incentive to own a copy of alice is as high as say dominion or body & soul.
body & soul is probably the most interesting one there - i've seen it go for anything from 3 quid up to 15 quid in shops around leeds
and most of the tracks aren't (officially) available on cd...
in the end though it comes down to whatever you feel happy about paying - its always nice to own the official 12" singles isnt it?
be aware though that alice and body & soul are probably re-issues. that wouldnt really bother me but i know some more hardcore collectors like to own the original pressings....

Cheers Quiffy. I forgot, there was also "More", at about a fiver. And yeah, it would be nice to own them, even if I can't actually play them. Mind, that never stopped me buying Gift. Before I realised I could have bought it on CD.

Just use Ebay. It's much cheaper generally. Also places like Netsounds are good as well.
750 for Damage Done??!! My god. I paid 190 for mine and I thought that was extortionate.
It's taken me 15 years to get my collection together. All I'm missing are a couple of 7"s now. The last things I bought were the really expensive ones :

Well, at least I know I can get them whenever I want if they're in town, plus since there's a bus stop right near the shop, chances of it arriving broken are almost zero.
Well, it was unplayed, kept in it's sleeve, the sleeve kept in a plastic wallet because it was easy to smudge, and some people are desperate for the best.
Personally I would prefer Body Electric to The Damage Done.
I didn't know More was rereleased. What were the tracks, or was it the "power mix" or "morphine mix" I see on Kazaa? I'm sure this More is the original release, with just WYDSM as it's b-side.
Well, does anyone know where I can get a nice cheap turntable? Preferably with speakers built in (low quality, but hell it'll be cheaper, and I'll only be using it for Sisters stuff really, when I'm doing my mountains of GCSE coursework

Yeah, More was released in Germany on promo in 1993.

It's different, but I prefer the original mixes.
As for turntables...Cheap would be somewhere like Cash Converters. They're usually the ones taken from stereo systems from the early to mid 90's.
The cheapest "proper" deck I've seen is about 100 quid (not in cash converters!)

We have a Cash Converters now. I was sold an amp there that was way too expensive for it's low quality.. but I must say I do love the sound it makes, so I don't mind too much anymore.
You think the ones they sell would have speakers contained in them?
Bearing in mind, once I get a turntable, I'll rush into town and buy all the singles at once, all 5 of them.
Shame they have no Ghost Dance ones.. I found a March Violets one there, maybe I should get that one too.

Just a note, I've bought Body And Soul for £8. Looks like Dark has an early Xmas gift.

It depends what kind of music system you have now. Does it have any kind of input sockets? Because if it does, you might be able to hook up a separate turntable to your system...
(Although most separate turntables need a separate pre-amp too, called a "phono stage"; look for a turntable with one built in.)
Richer Sounds is a good place to ask; I got my turntable from there (with inbuilt phono stage) for £40 or so.

My dad's system in the other room used to be connected to a turntable. Before he gave it to my sister as a graduation present. -.-
The only reason I asked about one which was all built in, was just because all I'd really use it for would be for listening to whilst doing my homework, or whilst laying in bed on a dismal Saturday morning.
So yeah.
