Any Other Doctor Who Fans?

As we all know Mr Eldritch is a massive Doctor Who fan as am I.
He once suggested Reg Varney as the next Doctor!
Now the show is finally returning does anyone have any suggestions as to who they would rather play the Doctor then Chris Eccelstone?

Haven't watched any Doctor Who for quite some time but I used to be a big fan back in the day (contributed a lot of articles, artwork and fiction to a number of fanzines in the early 90's).
I'm trying to maintain an open mind about the new series. I guess we'll just have to wait and see...

I got a letter printed in the Dr Who Monthly mag (issue 52 I think - 1981 - back when I was about 11 years old)

There's an actor called John Ringham who'd make a wonderful Troughtonesque Doctor.
(Ugh, I hate -esque words but can't be bothered to rephrase it.)

Dont worry, SG's perception of reality is a tad skewed..... she likes Killing Miranda and advertises Dracula Society events.

Indeed, the man's a genius, great voice too.
Go
here and download "Tom Baker - Commercial Voiceover Outtakes". It's some audio of a recording session for a radio commercial and it's hilarious.

Indeed.
Although I can't ever have
seen much of him as The Doctor, what with hiding behind the sofa from the Daleks all the time.

The Pertwee era was the best, it began to go downhill toward the end of Tom Bakers time and never recovered. I'd like to see a Rasta Who, smoking weed to concentrate and a red, gold, green scarf and hat.
