I'm just curious that's all. The photos not particulary clear and I thought the bands name would have been mentioned on the plaque? But then I've never seen one in real life so know nothing.

The picture is a bit confusing: could be in colour but might as well be black/white; I know this though I wouldn't bid on it :|

I've always wondered about hese award discs - Is just one made, and presented to the band? or is one made for EACH band member (meaning that there would be four of these silver disc thingies in existence)?

and do other countries besides the UK give out awards for record sales?

just curious

Far more widespread than just the band members.
A friends dad used to work for a record label (sales & marketing dept) & he could request gold or silver discs from any band on the label. they had loads hanging on the kitchen wall

I'm guessing that the band, management, producer, engineer & record company execs are nailed on to be presented with a disc. Other people in the record company probably have a chance of blagging one if they know the right people.

Yes it is 100% original and will go very nicely with the silver disk i have for First and Last and Always.

And the album in the frame is usually not the album being celebrated - having actually played one on a record deck it's usually just one of many such coloured discs used for such an occasion.
