I'm getting slightly vexed now

Cos I spent all afternoon removing some twating trojan showing as romahome in my startup list and the f**ker's still redirecting me to some s**t spyware website. And I've got Norton Personal Firewall installed. Allegedly. Fncking b@stard tw@ting cnuts. I reckon the gamekeepers are paying the poachers to keep them in business. It makes me seethe.

I brought a home machine from a user in work cause 'I keep getting pop ups' she installed Norton and then disabled it!!! so now there are 8 trojans and 30 odd virus's on the machine. I'm amazed the machine is still running

I was planning a nice Sunday lunch down the local, but think I've now got my work cut out for me.

Maybe obvious but try Ad-Aware from Lavasoft and Spybot. Both are free to download and use.

how dare you, how dare you, how dare you (Max'n'Paddy quotes already  )

no spit roast, just beef, yorkshire puddings, roasted spuds in goose fat (well they say goose fat  ), carrots and other assorted veggies. Think the only spit will be in the Guiness and Blackcurrent

and I still haven't made it to the pub yet. I'm stuck buying 3 for £20 DVD's on Play.com, so far I've got Scrooged and Predator2 just wondering wether to go for Fish called Wanda or Highlander... the agony of choice

ended up with This years love (never seen it, but Kathy Burke's innit)

This Year's Love is pretty good, IIRC. Saw it in the cinema, many years ago. Back when I was handsome and had a string of young ladies to squire to movie palaces.

Ah, nostalgia ....

went to see 'Finding Neverland' last night... it was good. Johnny Depp looked lovely.
Please, if you go and see it, take a hanky... just the bit about fairies dying if no one believes in them and tinkerbell taking the poisoned medicine and her light fading had me sniffing... WAAHHHH

I've got one trojan bastard quarantined but I don't know how to remove it entirely :? :urff:

Type the name of the trojan into Google and it should find an answer

If I don't mistake it was just "Trojan Horse"

Online virus scan.
http://housecall.trendmicro.com/houseca ... t_corp.asp
Make sure you tick the box that says something like 'remove viruses' otherwise it'll scan only.

Then download HijackThis and use it to scan and then see if there's anything bad in your startup list (BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU DELETE, as most of what it lists is supposed to be there. It shouldn't be hard to spot anything that shouldn't be there. If in doubt post the log and someone can advise). Sometimes a virus/trojan will hide in your startup list and reinfect on rebooting. You might not need to use HijackThis, maybe housecall deals with this also. This is just for if the virus mysteriously re-infects on rebooting.

Also get ad aware from lavasoft.de, install it, make it check for updates first so it's got the latest data then do a scan.

Thanks :notworthy:
I'll check it.
(By the way, I have Norton Antivirus, Adaware and Spybot but none of them hasn't removed that ugly alien, Norton says just it's quarantined.)

It seemed to work for emilystrange in this thread where other things had failed. Someone I was chatting with yesterday had a virus when they already had Norton installed. Isn't Norton supposed to stop viruses? Piece of junk.

strange how tinkerbell disappeared..

I'm sad to say, but there isn't a single program yet invented that can stop all viruses. Or worms. Or spams. Or.....

We are all f**ked! :|
