A couple of the Stripes tracks are the backing to some UK TV commercials at the moment. Mobile phones maybe or some other life-style gadget for someone with more money than sense. :innocent:

I like the Stripes. Shoot me. :von:

Luke likes it. I think it's sh!te. As is the Sister's version. It don't work if you ain't big and bouncy.

The band are ace, their Jolene is ace. The original is full of 'feeling' and 'emotion', which most covers I've heard emulate in their own way. The Stripes version is no exception. Stonking.

I 'll remeber that the next time I accidently step on my cat's tail...

It will be full of 'feeling' and 'emotion' then.

Sorry, but if that singing chick is the same chick playing the drums in the White Stripes, it's about time she gets herself a decent job. One that does not involve being musical.

Surely its Jack singing not his ex, unless she's developed muscles and grown a foot or two.

Actually, their Jolene is excellent, I think. And they definitely have some sense of rock n roll to cover it (anyone doing a 'please don't take my man' song).

No Doktor, but very nice nonetheless.

Resurrecting this 8 years on....

Anyone who fails to see how the humoristic irony of a guy who is now running his outfit out of Nashville after doing a humungous record with Loretta Lynn after "doing Dolly" is really missing the point.

Jack White is probably the only performer ever to really understand what his fans really want. Google. The Vault. Third Man Records.
