Prince Charles is opening a plastics factory in Middlesborough. He cuts the red ribbon & the manager of the place is showing him around inside, but keeps getting distracted by the very odd hat Prince Charles is wearing.
Eventually he just has to ask, "Er, excuse me, your Highness, but your hat..."
Prince Charles asks, "Do you like it?"
The factory manager says he does.
Prince Charles then asks if the factory manager would like to feel it.
The factory manager, a little confused, says "yes please your Highness," and Prince Charles leans his head towards the factory manager so that he can feel the prince's hat.
"Er, very soft, your Highness," says the factory manager.
"Yes," says Prince Charles, beaming, "It's fox fur."
"Ah." Says the factory manager, "Right. Hmm. Ok. But may I ask, your Highness, why you're wearing it?"
"Well you see," says Prince Charles, "Mummy & I were having breakfast this morning and discussing our appointments for the day, and I told her I was coming here to open this factory, and she said, 'Middlesborough? Wear the fox hat!'"
