Not sure if there was a subject like that before, too lazy to look for it!

BUT here is my top ten.

1. IT'S OBVIOUS!!!
2. Dave Gahan
3. Stuart - Tindersticks
4. Craig - Archive
5. Jeff Buckley
6. Justin Sullivan
7. Bono
8. that guy from Dimmu Borgir (when he actually sings)
9. that guy from Calla (forgot the name)
10. Rysiek Riedel - DZEM

I know that some of them are not technicaly great etc BUT I took into account all the important factors: voice, charisma, sex-appeal, emotions... (and that's why
:von: is No 1). so - have fun!!!

1. The same person as you, even though I have absolutely no idea who that is.
2. Ian Astbury (The Cult)
3. Peter Spilles (Project Pitchfork - all those different voices he does!)
4. Nick Cave
5. Brendan Perry (Dead Can Dance)
6. David Bowie (When he's not doing that silly Cockney thing)
7. Dave Gahan
8. James Hetfield (yeaah! etc.)
9. That guy out of Spahn Ranch is good (some Greek name I think)
10. Ditto the guy out of Paradise Lost

To be honest, the first two are the only ones I can put in any order. The latter ones are interchangeable mostly. And the criteria... mixed. Tried to focus on The Voice.

For the record, I think Peter Murphy would be a champion singer if he wasn't affecting either a camp pseudo-Bowie voice ('80's) or constipation (have you heard 'Dust'? :innocent: ). In the mid-80's he was pretty fab.

1. Andrew eldritch (especially in the early years, Before he kind of got into the more monotone-ish baritone, I liked the 1983-4 concerts where his voice would sound frantic in burn and amphetamine logic)
2. Robert smith
3. Joey ramone
4. peter murphy
5. Gary marx if he's considered a vocalist now
6. Alice cooper
7. carl mccoy
9. Iggy pop
10. The guy from interpol

(Yea I know there's no 8 I ran out of idea's)

Thats a hell of a lot harder than i thought it would be....

Simply the most pleasant voice ive ever heard from a chap would have to be Nat King Cole.

I think Freddie Mercury had an amazing power in an operatic/rock/pop sense.

I also think Robert Smith is quite underated.

Eldo cant sing for s**t lets be honest...... great stylistics though :)

Favourite male singer would be Garm from Borknagar/Ulver/ex-Arcturus/etc...
but a close second would be Simen Hestenaes ex-Borknagar/current bassist and "clean" vocalist in Dimmu Borgir

Favourite female singer ermmmmmm Tori Amos or Elizabeth Fraser

I'm so glad that somebody else here likes Stuart. He may be out of tune (in Nick Cave kind of way), but he puts so much emotions into his voice... and lyrics. Prefer Sticks to Cave.. :)

So that's his name! I'd prefer Dimmu Borgir with him as a main vocalist, not very fond of growling...

I have to agree. When he sings Let Me love you Until the morning lite ... I swoon.

But I do have others and this is in no particular order:

Von, Joe Eliot, Dave Vanian, Fat Bob, Mark Manning, Micheal Hutchence, Richard Butler.

and Mr. Idol love his lips.

And more recently, Keith Urban. What a BABE!!!!!
