this week...

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

1. First I finally spotted Nick Cave wandering around Brighton, with his two kids in tow.

2. Then I received a considerable tax rebate which will temporarily solve my financial problems, and allow me to get tanked up over the holiday season, ending this period of cash-enforced sobriety which is not good for the soul.

3. And yesterday I received the news that, as of January 4th, I finally have a permanent full-time job - as an "E-Marketing Executive" with a publisher of psychology books here in Brighton & Hove.

I am still grinning like an idiot (particularly at the job success), have treated myself to some proper Marlboro instead of rollies, several cans of Stella - and a lottery ticket to see if my roll of good luck continues. :D

I think you're getting my share of good luck at the moment if my life is anything to go by at the moment :(

 Nick's kids - now that is something I wish I'd seen! Were they dressed in rags, all grimy and fierce-looking? Black hair? Covered in rashes as a result of easily-preventable, old-timey diseases? :)

Don't ruin the vision for me, please!

(PS - Statistically you're several times more likely to be hit by a meteorite than to win the lottery.... :innocent: )

And I imagine the chance of getting hit by a meteorite and winning the lottery on the same day is still infinitely greater than you signing the Sisters!

Unfortunately.

Yes, Nick's kids were feral creatures, wild children of the swamp lands, communicating in growls and gutteral barks, picking lice from each others hair. er... maybe.

alas, no lottery win - I guess I had my run of good luck. Oh well - I'm happy with the new job.

Yes. It is amazing how many times you can type the words 'updated' and 'edited' and get away with it.
