It's actually a site selling several Call of Cthulhu roleplaying paraphernalia, and the word 'eldritch' (in its original meaning) is often used in these Lovecraftean adventures. But still, a nice button to wear on TSOM concerts ;D

A slight (drunken) detour here, but has anyone ever commented on any connection between AE and Philip K Dick? I discovered recently that Dick wrote a novel called "The Three Stigmata of Palmer Eldritch". Malcolm Edwards' introduction to one of Dick's short story collections also comments that many of his books were "written in a matter of weeks in amphetamine-fuelled marathon sessions". Sound familiar?

I've read "The Three Stigmata of Palmer Eldritch" and it's a good book. It's about drugs, and like you said, it was written whilst on drugs (much like a lot of Sisters songs!) but I think that's where the similarity ends.

Doesn't the lad McCoy go on about that in some Neph song or other? (File this post under 'How much vaguer can you get?' but I'm too drunk to get specific right now)

From here...
When the name of Cthulhu appears in The Watchman and Last Exit For the Lost, or when McCoy summons up "sweet nectar for a thousand young" in Psychonaut and names a track of Elizium (Dead but Dreaming), one's suspicions are confirmed. (In an eye-opening interview with the Christian magazine Cornerstone, McCoy stated that The Watchman is "basically an invocation to Cthulhu", adding that "Several old cultures believed this god is in the form of a sea serpent...it's an ancient, evil god that lived on earth before man existed. The opposing forces battled with it and won. But some books say the ancient gods are going to rule again."

Cthulhu is a character created by Howard Philipps Lovecraft (I hope the first names are right...), and is indeed the great eh... 'Squid', once defeated, not dead but dreaming, lying in wait at the bottom of one of our oceans to once again rule the earth.

Cthulhu, and the whole Lovecraftian theory, however, is based upon the old Sumerian beliefs, as described in a lot of scrolls, and also (according to believers) in the Necronomicon, the Book of the Dead.

But finally, it is a modern horror-roleplaying game, using the (Cthulhu) Mythos as background. It is fecking fun.

I used to play a bit of Call of Cthulhu myself, back in the day...

I even wrote the dissertation for my Certificate of Sixth Year Studies in English on the works of H P Lovecraft and the Cthulhu Mythos!
