I voted for Space Oddity as it is the only record I know/own

 Whaaaat? You omitted "Heroes" and "Lodger". For shame. One of them would be my favourite.

I think "Low" is insanely overrated, and "Tonight" ain't as bad as people make out.

There's a limited number of options on a poll, so I left out the ones I don't rate myself. Diamond Dogs should've been left in - I must have been tired. :innocent:

Or just Aladdin Sane if you're on a tight budget.

Bowie's quite a "singles" man for me to be honest. I mean, I chose "Heroes" earlier on, but when I think about it, I was voting mainly for the title track and Beauty and the Beast. I always skip the instrumentals (which, for those who don't own it, comprise a fair slice of the album. Bloody Brian Eno. )
Maybe that says more about my attention span than anything... but I think if you're new to Bowie (what have you been doing!), one of the compilations is yer best bet.

BTW, is Tin Machine really as s**t as everyone says it is?

For some reason the best 4 albums Bowie ever did didn't actually feature him singing (much):
Lou Reed - Transformer
Stoogies - Raw Power
Iggy - Idiot/Lust for Life

However, is these are not suitable and you force me into a corner then I guess I would have to go for "The Best of David Bowie"...
