Heartland Aid Appeal

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

Right, Mischief and Discord hats off …

Isn’t it great that everyone appreciates the work that Quiff Boy, aka BARRY BRIGGS in real life, does? Isn’t it great that we keep coming back for more? Isn’t this a cool place to visit and hang out? It gets me through the work day and sometimes the nights too, if I’m perfectly honest.

All due to the work of Barry.

But how many of you know that he runs this site for fun and enjoyment. Very admirable qualities in anyone. :notworthy:

But how many of you know that this costs him money? His own money. Yep, from his own wallet.

Isn’t it time we said “Thank You in a much more tangible way.

Yes, it’s Barry’s baby. His Heartland. But it’s also My Heartland …and Your Heartland. 8)

I’ve roughly calculated and working on memory from the early days when I joined, that if every regular HLer donated a minimum £10 (or local currency equivalent), Barry won’t be spending his own money for the next two years. :)

That to me, is a big Thank You from us, for what he does. :notworthy:

FAQ: How do I give Heartland my money?

Paypal – Every theme has a PP button after you’ve logged in and before you click on ‘view last posts’. If you have a paypal account that works, do it. Now.

Cheque – Drawn on a UK bank account made payable to ‘BARRY BRIGGS’ but PM me for his address as it won’t be published on a public forum.

UK Cash/Postal Order – Again PM for his address.

Overseas/Paypal doesn’t work? – Send paper money with pictures of local historical figures, architecture and animals. Imagine his joy looking at all the ‘funny’ bank notes. Then he can wander down to his local money launderer and convert it all in one go. PM for address.

None of the above - Send him your mint copy of Damage Done and he'll sell it on ebay. All proceeds going to HL. :D

Obviously, anyone who’s in the PRWY and knows Barry locally, can make their own arrangements. But please, give something next time you see him.

This will be a big Thank You to Quiff Boy.

Especially as this is totally unsolicited from him and he has no idea that I’m posting this. :innocent:

Go on. You know you really, really want to.

Thank you. :von:

PS: Can another Mod with powers make this ‘sticky’ please ..? Ta.

As Loki said, this isn’t a business, to create shirts etc. costs money up front in the first place....

My hand's in my pocket... there should be some £££'s in there by meetup time :P

And what about us poor unfortunates who have a horrible allergy to "colour care" washing powders? We've either got to learn to rock the "faded" look or keep buying new clothes

I made a small donation when I hit 100 posts, but that was a while ago, so I'm up for sticking my hand in my pocket. Consider it done.

Good work Loki :notworthy:

Excellent cause, Loki. When (if) I next stumble into a period of stabilty, I'll certainly cough up.

Maybe it's time the BRWY organised another p*ss-up in The Angel or somesuch.

Yeah, if the Sisters play in the UK this year, I'll buy you a pint (in that I'll give you money to buy it, as I'm still too young to buy it) and then a tenner just to say thanks. :)

Some of us give regularly and without prompting. It is tax-deductible after all.
