I've been reading T.S Eliot alot lately and I have noticed something.

Andrew Eldritch makes reference to alot of T.S Eliots prose and poetry during the "embryonic stage" of the Sisters. 1981 - 1983

Is Eldritch a fan of Eliot? He has very good taste if he is

The m*****n also made a reference with their song "The Waste Land"

Was That Guitarist a fan, or did he steal the idea from Eldritch?

Eldritch isn't the only one to reference writers and poets.

Jim Morrison made reference to William Blake all the time.

Lou read also made a reference to the book "Junky" by William S.Burroughs in the Velvet Underground songs "Heroin" and "Waiting for the Man"

Hmm... literary Eldritch. Songs about speed, speed and more speed, with the occasional mirror, gun, knife, boulevard, red light or girl, but "mostly about speed", haven't got a real lot to do with Voltaire or Gabriel Garcia Marquez, now do they, mate. Not even Dirk Hartog gets a mention.

I wasn't actually talking about quotes from interviews.

I was talking about references he makes in his lyrics.

For instance in "Floorshow" the lyrics about "The violet hour" is taken from the Waste Land.

I did some more research on it and found an excellent website called "1959" which has a lot of info on the lyrics.

I was trying to figure out what the lyrics ment and I found a LOT of references to T.S Eliot.

I was hoping that it would make the lyrics easier for me to understand.

It doesn't really bother me if Eldritch never releases a new album, it's his life and he can do what he wants with it, if he chooses to never release a new album it doesn't bother me.

I see no point in sitting around complaining about it.

I have also noticed some people get upset by the remarks Andrew makes about some of his fans.

I take what he says with a pinch of salt.

Most of the time he says these remarks tongue in cheek, and merely says the comment to stir some controversy, and most of us fall for this trick every time.
