born-yesterday questions of the i-know-nothing kind

For you to give feedback to the Heartland moderators. Wish lists, fault reports, etc. You may get an answer, you may not. As in all things, it largely depends on how nicely you ask the people in charge... You're welcome.

having stupidly chosen fag-behind-the-bike-sheds lessons twenty years ago instead of computers;and having spent the last ten years as a so-called "new age traveller"(a s**t media label, only slightly better than "hippy travellers")i am an utter novice at all this new-fangled malarkey.could someone please explain in very simple terms how i go about getting a pretty picture underneath my user name-thank you.
Well I was handsome and I was strong
And I knew the words to every song.
"Did my singing please you?"
"No! The words you sang were wrong!"

1. click Profile

2. scroll down to Avatar control panel

3. If the pretty picture you want is on your machine then use the browse button next to "Upload Avatar from your machine:" to find it.

4. If the pretty picture you want is already on the internet then type the address of the pic into the box labelled "Upload Avatar from a URL:"

5. Click Submit, light blue touch paper and stand well back.

6. Wash hair, comb out those dreads, and get some decent clothes - you're on a different sort of 'site' now :innocent:

You may wish to see how your avatar looks with the other board styles (Dr Jeep, Alice, or Industrial blahblahblah). (Click on PROFILE and look for the board styles.) The transparency of your avatar and the dark backgrounds of the styles do not mix too well.

I can't read the words either, Martin

I have some problems with smileys, sometimes...

The NotWorthy smiley :notworthy: <--- for example, is all 'edgy' when using a dark theme :|

Never noticed it in the old HL theme, of course, and then Quiffy took it all away

First the Valentine thread, now this...

I've done a non-anti-aliased notworthy smiley: Image
