I like Baccarat and Sic Bo the best. Love Baccarat. I was in a casino last night, in fact. Its retro Art Deco bar is the best, but when I wandered over to the restroom for a quick spew (which I blame on the tequila shots - the lemon suck at the end is the nicest part of that recipe - and on an unusual meal earlier in the night) I was discretely 'praying to the porcelain goddess' while the guy in the next cubicle was obviously snorting something. For a few brief moments our lives collided, inside the beautifully debauched environment of a massive casino, as we quietly overheard what one another were up to. It seemed quite odd at the time. I should've switched places with him.

If I gamble when drunk, I lose. Badly. The only alternatives were to stop gambling or stop drinking.

i work for a bookies. we make SHED loads of money. and i mean millions. the website itself takes a million profit on an average saturday.

I lost $80 (A LOT of money for me) over a weekend playing a game called Big 2, but won it back plus more in two hands the next month



And there will always be a special place in my heart for blackjack.

The horse races aren't too bad but it gets a little boring between races and I always lose.

me too...still cant work out the rules though

and when it comes to other gambling experiences-either i'm on a roll and dont need the money desperately so i carry on 'till i've lost it all or i'm too skint to play in the first place

i'ld be a hypocrite if i couldnt empathise with different forms of addictive behaviour but i cant see the attraction with gambling when you're up against the bookies etc(whom you rarely see getting nicked for drinking "mr.muscle" in our civil-liberty loving town-centres 'cause they put everything they own on chelsea winning the treble)

Me too! I used to love that on CH4, was gutted when they dropped it. The stuff they showed recently on CH5 was good, but not as good.

For my own part I have stopped smoking (again!) and I no longer ingest McDonalds/Burger King/KFC, this is since watching the "Super Size Me" movie about eating McDonalds for whole month - the really brave guy was likely to DIE

I still drink - but not as much as would like

No matter how much we make we seem to be able to dispose of it just as quickly, if not slightly more quickly - drink and motorbike being the main outgoings And ... if we have any left, going out with mates (but I suppose that comes into the category of drink)

Well, I've heard that it's like a game called Thirteen, if you know what that is ( i dont know how to play 13 though). In Big 2 each player gets 13 cards and if they're arent 4 players the remaining cards go into a draw pile. 2 is the highest card, 3 the lowest. the order of suits is in alphabetical order(clubs, diamonds, hearts, spades), clubs is lowest. The object of the game is to get rid of all of your cards.

Whomever has the lowest card (3 of clubs...or the closest if the 3 of clubs is in the draw pile) goes first. He/she may place in the middle any hand he/she wants that includes the lowest card. The next player (usually clockwise to the first player, but it doesnt matter), must put a hand of higher value made up of the same number of cards as the player preceding he/she put down. For example, if player 1 put in a pair of 3's, player 2 must put down a higher pair. If player 2 has a pair of 3's that includes a higher suit than either of the 3's put down by player 1, he/she may put that down.

If you don't have/don't want to put down a higher hand than the person preceding you put down, you may pass. If there is a draw pile, you must draw if you pass. If no pile then you just don't go until your next turn. If player 1 puts down a hand and no other player can/wants to beat it, player 1 gets to go again and put down any hand of any number of cards he/she chooses.

You keep going around until someone has no cards left and he/she is the winner.

The way I usually bet is the loser(s) pay one dollar per card they have left at the end of the game to the winner. If they have between 8 and 12 cards, the money doubles, and if it's 13 and up it triples (that's only possible with a draw pile). There's also what we call the politically incorrect "Jew" way of betting, which is 25 cents per card. You can also forego the doubling and tripling.

I met this guy in the horseracing media a few weeks ago at Newbury races.As we were chatting his brother, who's a jockey rang him up and told him that he's gonna stop a horse a Brighton the very next day.The horse he was going to stop was favourite!

Betting is made so much easier for the punter, especially now that all you have to do is open an account and press the red button on your remote control in the comfort of your own home.

Internet poker is the latest craze here, but it's very sad when folks stay up all night and gamble on virtual horseracing.

All jockey's bet and have punters!

So folks don't gamble what you can't afford!

Having gambled on football results from Armenia (and won, luckily), I can't really comment on the relative sadness of betting on non-existant events.

having had no interest in the game beyond man utd not winning,i stuck a few quid on the F.A. cup score(2-0 arsenal);and on the half-time/full-time result(draw/arsenal).thought it a bit unfair that exta-time/penalties invalidates the bet,but at least my gambling interest was held 'til then...still dont think i'll take up gambling full-time.maybe its a good job,i might have been hooked if i'ld won!
