Francis shall go to the ball!
My hairy god-father has waved his magic wand
And it's Tilburg and beyond
I'm so excited.
So, as if the glorious company of the gods with whom I shall be travelling were not enough, whom else shall I have the pleasure of meeting? Step forth and be counted.

"glorious company of the gods"
I can live with that.
"My hairy god-father has waved his magic wand"

It's probably the worst kept secret on HL that I'm being encouraged to make an effort to go to Tilburg.
I reckon that if I was to travel all the way way there I may as well take in Belgium too.
Person or peoples who are encouraging me to make said trip won't be going on to Belgium, sooooo, has anyone got any advice on this?

Or check out the Hotel de Lindeboom. Slightly more expensive at £50.90 (1 or 2 people) but smack bang in the centre of town in the pedestrianised bar/restaurant/clubs area and approx a 200m stagger to 013 in Veemarktstraat. Rate includes breakfast, tax and service.
If I'm reading the map correctly the Ibis is on the outskirts of town so what you save on the room rate you'll probably spend on cabs.
The Lindeboom only has 18 rooms so be quick as I've just booked two of them.

Has anyone worked out the logistics of doing the whole tour? I was talking to Scardwell (
top geezer
) last night and he said something about there being 1000 miles between two of the venues which made it nigh on impossible to do. But I have collected a few credit cards over the years and reckon I'm due a Shirley Valentine.
Unfortunately, most of my O Level geography was concerned with ox-bow lakes and coal mining in the Appalachians.

Yep there's quite some distance between the Zurich and Vienna gigs - you're either looking at a 12 hour train jouney, or there is the option of a one way flight (Air Berlin, 99 euro when I last checked). The distance between the Tabor (12th Aug) and Hildesheim (14th Aug) gigs is a bastard as well, but there is a day in between to chill out if need be.

@ Francis - I've just PMd you re last night's suggestion. If you need me to apply my professional expertise to devise a workable cunning plan to take you to all the Balls, just let me know. Gratis of course.
But as Scardy said, and I've looked at the geography, it ain't for the faint- hearted and maybe only for the die-hard.

It could prove to be an interesting intellectual challenge. If you've nothing better to do.
