Never heard the terms 'Hacktivism' and 'Crypto-anarchism' before clicking on that link.
Very cool.

Install Microsoft Antispyware. Works pretty well.

My firewall is software, never had any problems with hacking or so too...
After every exam I take an afternoon off, that's why (and I just had one this very morning)

It took me ages to get the hang of spyware/anti-virus things when I first went online. I think I have just about got it now!

Not necessarily, there are some very good software firewalls too... I run Sygate Personal Firewall, but another good one is ZoneAlarm (more userfriendly) and there are even more good ones...Shadow_Smile wrote:I will buy a router I think, these thing have better fire wall than just the free one's of the net.

I took the easy route and installed a Debian Linux box running NAT and Shorewall and a few other things. It downloads security updates every night automatically.
I also use Thunderbird and Firefox (yes, the trial was successful!) which limits my risk.
