Tablature for Summer

I've been listening to Summer alot lately and I have found myself strangely addicted to it.

I decided to try and learn all the different parts to the song, but I can't find any tabs for it on the net and I'm rubbish at figuring out songs by ear.

Do any of you know where I can get bass, guitar and keyboard tabs of the song?

<sarcastic random guess> the first chord is Am </sarcastic random guess>

I'd take bets on there being a C chord, a B chord, and probably a D chord in there too. Just like every single other Sisters song. :innocent:

Really?

I can play Amphetamine Logic, I'll just have to learn to play it backwards.

@Laz, it really does have an A-minor chord in it

Sounds more like an A5 to me

Just like the start of Suzanne :|

Edit: s**t, seems like the second chord is the same too...I'm probably wrong, like. Tone deaf, me. Which is why I took GCSE music :innocent:

@nick: if you do find/compose a tab, please let me see it, I'd be most grateful :)

I keep thinking Susanne is a remade version of On The Wire, they sound so similar.

Also, listen to Valentine, and then listen to The Velvet Underground's "Venus In Furs". Notice any similarities?

no such chord. not in the Sisters' chord dictionary, anyhow.

I've fiured out what the bass plays during the chorus and intro, I'm not sure if it's correct though.

1:-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------:1
2:-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------:2
3:--0-------0-------0-------0-------0-------0-------5-------3-------0-------3---------0-------5-------3-------0--:3
4:-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------:4

and the keyboard strings play something like this:

A A# C A#

You will have to listen to the song for timing, I think it's correct.

Guitar wise, just do as I do, cheat & use...
POWER CHORDS!!!!

Mr Whammy does it through Crash & Burn so its good enough for me.

Resurrection. :von:

Does anyone have more precise ideas yet? As a guitar beginner, I'm having trouble figuring it out.

Thank you!

Intro chords are simply below played by both guitars.
The Doktor plays the melody over top:
A/A/A/A/
D/Bb/G/Am/Am

Then the riff:

Guitar 1 (Ben) plays:
G- ------2--3------232------5---3------232
D- 0--00--0---000-----0 00---0---000-----

This just repeats.
Occasionally on some recordings Adam or Ben will end the riff like this...
B- ----------------------------------------66665
G- ------2--3------232------5---3------ --------7\
D- 0--00--0---000-----0 00---0----------------

Guitar 2 (Chris) just plays a chugging and palm muted d power chord over the riff.

Hope this helps.

i can help you out with whats on the recordings of summer i have done years ago. i was obsessed with summer back then.

although it might be featured "too much music" on these for the standardised sisters listeners's ears today, it even features real basses having a proper job. still love these versions i have to admit

Brilliant. Thanks guys.

I love your version jost. Very pretty autumnal kind of sound, but retaining the groove of the original!
