As obtained by legendary British net.goth and DJ, Sexbat. Anyone else know about this...?

News to me. As the comment says he could be just out of cash. Or someone could just have clocked a few dates coming up and though "what shall we remix?"

The truth will out. Possibly

I quite like it by the way, this is industrial groove machine with a techno beat.

Figures; I'm witholding my own opinion (the same, probably) till I get hold of it.

Any idea...why?

Are we making an assumption here that it's "approved"?

i havent heard it yet but i doubt it.

In which case the "why" becomes fairly straightforward. Some bloke, at home with his studio, decided to make a techno-up version of it to play in clubs and pressed up a few copies.

And quite a good version of it at that.

Ah, I see. The way s0b had written his post, it seemed to me it had come with the approval of El Presidente.
I'm very naieve with regards to remixing music; I thought you needed the permission of the artist before you could fiddle with it?

Not if its only a "promo white label" as this one is.

Reading it again I see what you mean, although would he know? (I have no idea)

To remix a tune, properly, it's with the artist's permission, they get paid, you use the originals etc. Plenty of "home made" mixes are always around which sample the work without permission and it never becomes a big issue cos they don't sell apart from 100 copies to dj's to play out.

Or something.

<edit> clearly, this can be put into far fewer words   (snagglepuss)

Dibs on the first unwanted copy of it.

didn't like it personally...though i'm sure plenty of you will want it.nothing wrong with that;it just reiterates the point that in the abscence of any new release by the band, there is massive potential for others to cash-in.although i wouldn't wish financial difficulties on Von,sometimes i wish he did need the money.

My god, that is painfully amateurish.

take 1 x temple '92 cd single, a breakbeat sample that comes free on the cover of "future music" october 2002, a free VST/DX eq filter, a copy of "fruity loops" downloaded through eMule, and bake in the oven until bored.

its crap. and thats not because i'm precious about the original, its just because its crap.

there's nothing interesting or noteworthy about it - its just a copy of temple with von's vocals fed through an eq, over a poor breakbeat/909 bass drum.

nowhere near as good as izzy's "burn 2003" remix, which as far as f**king up sisters songs goes, sets the benchmark :notworthy:

I remember starting on a remix of Torch as well, but decided against it. It was turning out brilliantly, so I abandoned it.

And you have more "product" than :von: has managed in over a decade...
