Why isn't the 'A Word To The Wise' e.p. included? That was the best record GD ever released IMHO.

I'd buy it, but I'd prefer the singles themselves, and then the LP version.
Although, if Gary was selling them with the whole band's autographs on them, then I'd buy one for sure.
As it stands, after the Dickies and NIN singles, I'm low on cash.. and there's a car-boot sale tomorrow.

i've got all the 12"singles and the LP,but to be honest they are too old, scarce and expensive to replace when they eventually get played to death.(i'm thoroughly meticulous wwhen it comes to care and handling of vinyl, but records can just wear out with extreme usage (especially the pressings in the latter days of vinyl which were thinner and more mass produced).
so,like with all my sisters vinyl,i'll be getting the cd to play and saving the vinyl for boasting about on forums like this!

Down due to bandwidth overuse. Either way, you can't buy the CD-Rs of Gathering Dust anymore.
Just get the LP.

not bandwidth, drive space
exceeded the disk quota due to offering too many downloads....
myself and gary uploaded a few new mp3s and an mpg live video the other day and that appears to have tipped it over the balance.
sadly they've suspended the ftp account too so i cant even delete a couple of mp3s
i've asked if they can delete a couple of files themselves but they also want some additional account username/password that only mr marx has... (i only have ftp & mysql account details)
i've mailed him to ask him to send the required stuff to the hosting company - easily.co.uk - so we'll see what happens then.
hopefully, they will get his confirmation and then delete a couple of the new downloads we were about to offer, and bring the site back online.
otherwise it will be another week before i'm around to do anything.

*phew* - glad to read that the site continues. for a moment i thought gary gave up the whole thing after that "gathering dust"-issue...

not at all
he's got another live video to offer and is planning on making the entire "stop the world" album available for free download as 192kb mp3 files, ripped straight from the cd

But.. if he makes them as mp3s.. then the value will drop..
*wakes up* That means I can get Stop The World on eBay even CHEAPER

he doesn't mind.
i think he's basing it on the fact that the cd is deleted, so chrysalis arent going to make any more money from it, and neither is he, so what the heck
and in this day and age, even if it were still available new, how many more "dozens" is it going to sell?
unless of course it gets used on a tv advert or something, and suddenly there's a huge demand for it to be re-released

and actually it's a good marketing move.
Making it freely available could prompt some people who haven't heard it to download it, and maybe from there they'd buy some of his more recent stuff.

I bought both the Down To The Wire 12" and the Celebrate 12" back in 1989 when they came out and then ... er ... decided against buying the album (sorry, Mr Marx).
But that's just me - some people might like it.
Maybe.

You bought the album (perhaps) ... and now it's no longer possible to do so. So, um, what else is left to do but
read my oh-so-timely review!
And if you can stomach wanky concept reviews, or ever enjoyed the classic Steve Jackson/Ian Livingston
Fighting Fantasy books, you could do worse than take a peek at some waffling about the recent
Salvation collection.
I live in eternal hope that one day I'll be able to churn out finely crafted nonsense about a Sisters record.

Sad. I was going to order a GD CD when I'm back from Sisters August tour
