Now the Proud Owner of...

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

The Stars Are All Too Near

The Silver Machine Devastates Europe

The only down side being it's long enough to look like a skirt, and with long hair I'm running a risk around Hull. Oh, fly me away to the Moskva of our Glorious People's Republic!
Seventeen quid from an alt-clothing shop, who nabbed my beauty and an ASCOOB shirt in mint condition from 'somewhere in London', as well as a Bauhaus shirt of similar lineage and quality. I nearly had a stroke!

Just wanted to share my ill-gotten gains with a sympathetic audience.

PS, for the weegies - what the hell is this?!

What, the kilt / T-shirt combo?

A common enough sight round here.

I am the proud owner of an original c1983 The Sisters Of Mercy T-shirt. Only worn once since 1984. At my first outing to a Smurphs gig @ the Royal Park in October 2003. Unfortunately I had to split it up the seems to get it on.

AFAIK, I don't have either but I do have one I bought in HMV in 1990 that features the original version of the head & star before it was slightly altered around 1983. I've always wondered and hoped (probably in vain) that it might be from re-discovered ancient stock.

Used to be one of my favourites until it fell apart. Somebody once mistook the image of Eldritch for one of Grace Jones  Alas, the replacment I have is a tad on the large side.

Looks like it might be one of these. They make up kilts from a range of materials. Their 21st Century Kilt Suit looks very Thatcheresque - especially the pinstripe version. Unfortunately the webpage doesn't have the photos featured in their brochure, in which the models wearing their leather kilts looked like an assortment of prostitutes, rent boys and schoolkids. Put me right off getting one!

Cheers all; as for the people unsurprised by the sight of a grown man in a kilt, you need to imagine what a sight it must be to an isolated port sixty miles and six decades from anything remotely resembling civilisation.
