I don't have anything on my computer that resizes images.

Could someone resize the picture below for me? I want to use it as my avatar ;D

Is there anywhere on the net that has free photo editing software?

Thank you! :notworthy: :notworthy:

I managed to resize the image, but now I can't use it because it says the KB is too big. Is there a way to change the KB?

When using Windows, the easiest method:

- open Paint (located in Start Menu -> Programs -> Bureau-Accessories).

- open yer picture in Paint.

- use ctrl+E for the properties of the picture.

- use units:pixels and look at height and width of picture. For this forum, a 200 x 200 pixel avatar is the maximum.

- for example, if your picture is 800 x 800 pixel, it is four times too large.

- exit the Properties menu and push ctrl+w for the Stretch Menu (I use a Dutch Windows, so these are all guesses at translation here ;) )

- because your pic is four times too large, use a Horizontal and Vertical Stretch of 25%. This makes your picture four times smaller.

- use the Properties menu again to check the 200 x 200 pixel limit.

Then 'Save As...' whatever you want. 'Paint' always makes small files in my experience, ideal for avatars :)

Iz,you are a f**king genius! :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy:
i've just started playing with ''paint'' on xp and was most disappointed that it doesnt say anywhere how to reduce images -or even that you can.all i could find was enlarging or ''trimming''.why they couldn't explain it as simply as you did i don't know. :notworthy: :notworthy:

now my avatar's horns can be seen as intended!

Well...because
as you yourself wrote: Iz,you are a f**king genius! :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy:
;D

Actually Paint is a very nice proggie for this kind of small jobs.

I always use this for avatar-making or resizing of pictures I use on the web, because Paint seems to reduce the size of a picture every time you save it.

By the way, you can use it for real paintings too:

Now I guess you'll have to spend quite some hours to get a result like that... In paint, don't you?

It's in the description ;)

IIRC it took him 500+ hours to make.

That makes him either a god or a loon. Possibly both ;D
