Hi--I just joined Heartland. I was on Dominion a number of years ago. Some names around here are familiar, so that's good!

I've sort of not been paying attention to the Sister, not properly anyway, for far too long. I did manage to see them in London in 2001. I know they've got a ton of new songs, some of which I've heard, but they're only memories at the moment.

Is there any good soul out there in Heart Land that would be willing to send me a collection of unrecorded songs or anything new that's interesting? New songs, new covers, new versions of old songs that are of note...MP3s would be more than enough--I'm mostly just interested in hearing clear versions of the songs.

A sort of 'Some Sisters Wander By Mistake' collection, I suppose.

If anyone can help me out, please private message me.

Thanks in advance,
Brian

Just look in the Weeding Section, and welcome! :D

I saw that, Big Si! Tons of stuff there! The problem is, I'm not really interested in collecting discs and I'm not really sure what's out there as far as new stuff!

I know 'Top Nite Out' is a song that I haven't heard, but I wouldn't know which version is reasonably clear, not to mention I'm not interested in the rest of the gig.

Thank you, though, Big Si! I may have to join one of the weeding lists anyway--especially for some of the gigs I was at: Philly 97, Chicago 98, London 01... I was extremely tempted to catch a Ryanair flight to Leeds for the Near Meth show!

Look for those and you won't go far wrong. If I've missed any, someone will point it out all too quickly, I'm sure ;)

Alas, no, Big Si! There's a lot of stuff on those collections I'm just not interested in (I think anyway!)

If weeding is my only option, can anyone recommend superior recordings with those songs on them?

Get both of the Leeds 2003 gigs. They're excellent. So is Philly '97.

Instead of weeding for something which you may not want, do you have anything for a trade?

I've pm'd with offer of compilation. Maybe he could re-weed that?

Would be happy to re-weed it as well as send Hom something by way of a thank you.

And, Karst, Philly 97 WAS a great show ;) I have it on video in another country.

Alas, I don't really have anything to trade either. I have all the usuals: Before the Flood, 7" & 12", Radioland, etc--but the discs, like the videos, are in another country.

Cheers,
Brian

I'd recommend The Darks Were In Milan, Nijmegen 1984, Wembley Arena 1990, Hilderburg 1990, Dublin 1997 and Cologne 2001 + the Leeds 2003 gigs as previously mentioned. Philly 97 and Miami 90 are both available on DVD.

Cheers, James! After I get a taste for these news songs, I may seek out some full shows. Weeding, of course ;)

I´m deeply interested in Philly 97

The show was hot as hell. The Electric Factory is actually an old converted factory. There were fans lining the balcony. Between bands there was a DJ who had to switch to vinyl because the heat was causing problems with the CD player (apparently). There was also a lot of hosing down of the audience.

Philly 97 was my first Sisters show--I'm glad it's been so well preserved on video and audio.

Does anyone know if the audio from the show is just taken from the video recording? Or was there a seperate audio recording made?

AFAIK the audio source traded/weeded around here is sourced from the video.

I may be wrong though.
