Old Trafford Test

This here Oz performance at the marvellous Old Trafford...looks like it's been touched by the hand of Hanse Cronje.

Three dropped catches, misfields, overthrows. WTF?

Looks like Allerton Bywater of a Saturday afternoon.

Which is great for England, of course.

Why was I expecting a test in the sense of "Which Bowie are you?" :|

Elderly Bastard Groovy moment...except I'm not elderly :urff:

What's the follow on?

Posted: 12 Aug 2005, 16:03
by markfiend
200 behind IIRC? So 245 needed to avoid? :innocent:

94-3. With no Clarke (hopefully). Get in there!

I was right:
Guardian over-by-over wrote:For those who are asking, the follow-on target in Test cricket is worked out by subtracting 200 from the total, and adding one. Therefore Australia need to score 245.

Well, it's built into a neat one-day tester: 399 to score, with 10 wickets to do it with. Something tells me, the Ozzies will just hide behind their bats a bit. Thus far, they've scored twenty-odd of those 400, but lost an early wicket... OOOOOooooh!

*Ahem* yes, meanwhile back at the cricket...

What happened to Matthew Hoggard? When did he suddenly become a good bowler? :innocent:

Also, when are the selectors going to wake up and realise that we need a decent wicket-keeper?

Is it just me getting nervous?

Oz only need another 174 to win and Billy Hill online have cut the odds on an Australian victory to thirteens...

No it's not just you.

I was sitting here this morning criticising Vaughan for making the target too high... I have achieved almost exactly precisely nothing at work this afternoon and it's not getting any better.
