Going to buy a CD player for the car,any suggestions,looked about a bit on Google but there's"Pure Hunners ",so who's got what?,what's s**t and what's not?,about £150+fitting's the money I think I can spend,is a combo'MP3 player worth while?,....Oh,and one that WON'T play 1970s Prog'Rock bands ,it's a long way to Leeds .

I don't think many of them come with built in turntables, so you're safe there

Amazon seems to have a decent selection of them, so that's probably the easiest place to do a price/features comparison rather than a raw google search. Other than that, I haven't a clue

see if you can get a copy of 20 Jazz Funk Greats - that'd be great on a long car journey

I traded my old car in for a new one and got them
to throw in a CD Multi thingy in the price, was cheaper
than upgrading the Stereo.

And before you think that is crass, the old car was 10 years old and worth about £300 (RIP RAE- old Alfas never die they just leak oil all over the place), all I had on tape was a Barrowlands boot from Big Si and a third generation copy of Some Girls...

If you've got a CD Walkman, just buy an adapter and slip it in the tape deck.

Job done, and you can take it with you when you've finished your drive.

The same technology should work with your iPod, MP3 player or anything else you can plug headphones into.

I had to persuade the last person who sold me a car _not_ to chuck in a CD player: I need that cassette slot!

The tape player in my car doesn't like those adapters. I had to buy an iTrip.

I'v' got a tape adaptor for my wee MP3,but it only holds about 30 or so songs ,and you still get a real"hiss"like a normal tape,but if I'm aswell spending the money on a bigger MP3 or ipod that might be as good and a more versitile option,just seems you get a better "quality"sound from a CD player?.

just to add...the Sony CDX-S2250S also plays MP3 discs...good spec and has a sub switch too...MEGA BASS...
