the good, the bad & the ugly

my wife picked up 'the good, the bad & the ugly' for me yesterday at sister ray in soho.
it's sub-titled 'history of cover versions' and does what it says on the tin. it's a double cd collection of live covers performed by the sisters from 1983 - 2001.
it is nicley put together, using the old & new MR logos & the sound quality of most of the tracks is very high.
in fact, many of the tracks seem to have been remastered or cleaned up, because i already have some of the tracks on old bootleg tapes of a far inferior quality.

any of you know any more about this & has it got any notable omissions?

full track listing:

1969 - Brixton 1983
Jolene - Norwich 1983
Gimme!Gimme!Gimme! - New York 1984
Knockin' On Heaven's Door / Hey Joe / Purple Haze - Manchester 1984
Ghostrider/Sister Ray - Amsterdam 1984
Stairway to Heaven - Blackburn 1985
Emma - Biefeld 1985
Gimme Shelter - Milan 1985
Knocking on Heaven's Door - Rome 1985

He's Got the Whole World in His Hands - Reading Fest. 1991
Stop Draggin' My Heart Around - Loreley Fest. 1992
Sister Ray / Louie Louie - Pukkelpop Fest. 1992
Silver Machine - Leysin Fest. 1993
Comfortably Numb / Some Kind of Stranger - Brixton 1993
Confide in Me - Brixton 1997
On the Wire / Teachers - Forum London - 1998
Bei Mir Bist Du Schon - Mera Luna Fest. 2000
Capricorn - Cologne 2001
I Didn't Know You Loved Me 'til I saw You Rock n' Roll - Cologne 2001
Sugar Baby Love - Bonn 2001
I Wanna Be Sedated - Bonn 2001

if it is as cleaned up as you say, would it be worth offering for weed or trade?

Omissions? Sweet Home Alabama from Philadelphia in 1999 comes to mind.

Nijmegen 84, just before Alice

by paint it black
seems to have originated in oz. no idea who did it (i'm guessing the same source as notts 84, victims 2005, etc)

originally very limited with t-shirt, badges etc, now seems to be a second edition of just the two disks. the european "sales" agent seems to be a member of HL, so maybe he could tell us a wee bit more :?

Sounds like they ripped off my classic 'Autumn winds' compilation. Tee hee.

Clearly they should have sent it to the Heartland Team for quality control.

or you could do it the old fashioned way, by sending copies to other HLers!
Just a suggestion... :innocent:

Hmmmm.... this one looks to familiar. Christer made a cd-r identical to this bootleg, to trade with people who whas just interested in covers. He also made a cd-r with all new songs on it, for the same people. Might be a coincidence, like CCCP developed the H-bomb just a few years after the americans ;)
