Hi all

This is my first post and I need some help, I'm a big sisters fan and im about to buy a copy of damage done to add to my collection. Problem is I need to know the copy is genuine. I remember there being a link on the net once that showed how to tell the difference between a well manufactured copy (think they were made in Japan) of damage done/watch and an original.

So my question is, Does anyone know where this link is?, or does anyone know the difference off the top of their head or where I can read about this info?. I remember its something to do with the front cover where the pictures were slightly difference from the originals and the copy.

cheers
Richard

Bizarrely enough, the fake has become collectible as well.

I think this should probably move into "FAQs".

Does it actually matter? Surely the music is the important thing. If it sounds like something you want to hear, it's worth owning. If it doesn't, it's not.

I really don't get this whole collecting fetish ....

Hi all

I received my original copy of damage done watch today from rockready in the USA.
I've checked it against the fake pictures posted and as far as I can tell
its original, one question though is the original cover made of paper, because compared to my copy of Body Electric, it is pretty flimsy.

I checked the cover details, and the cross is on the church and the edges are squared like the original. any help and re-assurance :? would be nice.

If this is an original, its in new, completely mint condition.

cheers
Richard.

As far as I know, the ways to check if it's real or not are:

1) The cover. Is it even a funeral at a church? Is it the Primary bootleg repress in a gatefold? If so, does it have the cross on the church?

2) The ROGIs. If they're not kosher, then you got a bootleg.

3) The cut-out part at the back. I forget exactly how large it is, but some versions have different sized cuts.

4) Does it have Home Of The Hitmen? Stupid question, maybe, but some bootleg pressings don't.

5) The paper. If it's flimsy and thin, then it's good. If it's relatively sturdy and thicker, it's not.
