The slightly confused return of JansenClone...

I'm back and in need of help!!!

Just had my computer fixed? I've got two CD-ROM drives on my computer one which just plays CDs and DVDs and one which records CDs and DVDs.

The computer seems to think the play only drive is (d) and the recordable drive is (e) although the reality when you put discs in them is that they're actually labelled the other way round. This means when I put blank discs in the recordable drive the computer doesn't notice and I can't actually record anything!

There you go, I come back and start begging for help straight away, how rude am I?

So you basically want to swap the drive letters over? Are you running XP? I seem to remember the option to do this is under 'storage manager' or something (not using XP at the mo cos I'm at work). I'll have a look when I get home unless someone sorts you out sooner.

Welcome back, BTW :)

Please check your drivers, reinstal burning software, I prefer Nero 5.0 (can forwrd software).
All above is software fixing so if it does not do the trick, open your computer, each drive has a grey flat wire inserted, DO NOT TOUCH!
At the back of each drive so can see if your drive is a master or a slave etc. Check the jumpers *small little black plugs*.
Make the choice which cd drive/dvd drive will be your master or your slave. If you do not understand all of the above, pm me.
Good luck
