Hi there!

Does anyone know if there is a working and updated goth gigs and events list for London on the internet?

Going to London in november and would like to know where to go and when.

Cheers
harlot

Your pic's a bit scary.

They must be retired by now...

Your best bet is the almighty netgoth.org.uk, their Events databse is spot on. You'd also want to try the livejournal communities uk_goffs, uk_goths, and the new uk_goths_events, there's also weirdlondon and a handful of others, all cross-linked so you can jump from one to t'other.

You're welcome.

I'll be in London in the very beginning of October. Not so interested in goth gigs but every other suggestion (about record shops, clubs etc) is welcome! :notworthy:

Resurrection Records in Camden is a must in my book - very easy to find on the main Camden High Street 8)

It's underneath a tacky clothes shop and you have to go down some stairs (with lots of goth band posters on) at the side of the clothes shop and then through a pretend-goth clothes shop and it's behind that!

Considering that BoF is currently listening to Estonian Folk Metal, she's probably directing you to somewhere with the same music selection as you'll find in the Estonian equivalent of Woolworths. :innocent:

I know people who know people from Estonian folk metal bands and at Laibach's afterparty, when I was extremely drunk, I chatted with a guy who is from a metal band, quite popular band here but - I really don't know is his band a folk metal or something else... Sorry, not my direction :urff:

Silly me, fancy not recognising him.

As it goes I used to frequent a club called Gurn, jolly good fun.

Yeah, that place is definitely worth a visit... went there for the first time last October when I was daaahhhn in London, got 9 cds at once (which is extravagance for me considering I normally only buy about 2 at a time).
Of course they have all the dodgy goff crap but you can find records there you would not find on sale anywhere else in the UK :notworthy: .

They have a vinyl section as well, don't they - you might kinda like that :innocent: ;D . Don't know how extensive it is though...

One thing though. Like Libby said, it is underground quite literally - since it's in the basement there is no shop sign or anything, just an arrow pointing down there as I recall. You could quite easily miss it, I would have done if I hadn't had the address... 228 Camden High Street.

Even with that, I still had to pace up and down the road several times before I found where it was  .

As for clubs - well, the Slimelight is the obvious goff club in London... but somehow I can't quite see you there, Indrek!
Unless you're prepared to don a fishnet shirt and a full face of makeup for an evening... :innocent:

I still find his pic quite disturbing. At least, I wouldn't let him anyway near a club that I frequent.

Just reconigsed your quote, CD! The ever-beneficial Paramount Leader :notworthy:

No worries, Harlot. I don't use netgoth much these days - I was struck down in the mighty purge of '02.
It's damn handy, though.
