As a not-quite scouse bastard, I take offence on behalf of those over the river :von:

I second that. Very loudly. From Rubber Soul onwards. :notworthy:

Good point.

If it wasn't about the Beatles, I would have...

A little heavy on the topic-posting... no there is no specific rule against it (as far as I'm aware, Quiff could maybe tell you differently), but it's getting just a tad irritating. Especially since they're mostly daft  .

Which is all well and good, I've posted one or two topics like that in my time... but by "my time" I mean over a year, and I waited until I'd established a bit of a rapport with my fellow H-Landers before I did it.

Just exercise a bit of quality control and all will be well, I think 8) .

I'm not really in favour of limiting topics and stuff, but I'd be inclined to slow you down as well

The less we/they need to slow anyone down the better this place remains...

Anyway, I just came across this and I thought this was an appropriate moment for it ;D

In a non-encouraging way I can (tangentially) respond to the topic by quoting Rory Bremner tonight -

"The Labour Party are a bit like The Beatles, they're dying in the wrong order."

No, I really, really, really don't. I'd like to shoot the smarmy f**ker and eradicate every song he's turned his crab-like stinking hand to though. Does that help?

But you could always just ignore his posts, by replying in the negative you are still keeping the thread alive.

I personally read what's been posted but just choose not to reply. Yeah ok I've replied to this one - but there's some 'holier than thou' attitudes going on here.

I'm certainly not sticking up for Mr Cromwell's style of thread - I know where it will lead unfortunately. But I just got bit miffed as some of your reactions.

All I know is , if a few more people had ignored posts elsewhere then.....oh fuk it I can't be buggered

I get more incensed by every bloody thread going off topic...and why should it not matter in the General folder? I just find it very rude, offensive and the sign of someone who has no interest in what other people are saying

I think I should go now.

And as for Hey Jude - it was never one of my favourite tracks and I actually hated that bit.

ooh! get you! posting a "spank warning" about people posting dribble/drivel...a case of "goth calling the cretin black!" if ever i saw one.... :innocent: :P ...

and whoevers upsetting debaser can knock the fucker on the head...she's already been really upset by people on the wishville boards .. this is HL :von:

and back OT -i utterly detest the song "Hey Jude" in it's entirety; as do i utterly hate "norweigian wood", "lady madonna" , "she's leaving home" and "let it be" to name a few......they all belong to the relatively small collection of beatles tracks that i can't bare to hear after a childhood of being force-fed their music.
and i think they may all even be macartney vocals :urff:

indeed this is HL and not wishville.

we don't need another bracknell pete or a purdy on here thank you very much.

thus this kind of s**t thread will; be stopped. now.

@ cromwell: and i don't care if it says anything in the rules or not. this place is run entirely at the discretion of the moderators, and me. sorry to have to flex one's authority in this way but your tone is far too similar to a certain bigoted cretin that all but destroyed another forum i used to visit. and your email address looks eerily familiar.

how is middleton this time of year john?
