...makes a man take things over ;)

those skinny young upstarts with drum machine (and personal faves of mine) black wire are playing a gig at leeds uni next tuesday and its being filmed for bbc2's "the culture show"

they saw a recent feature about the current leeds scene in the guardian and decided to check it out for themselves.

the culture show people are also doing an interview with choque hosein (ex-salvation, hollow men and black star liner guitarist/producer) in his capacity as producer and svengali figure for the new batch of young "leeds bands" coming out on his 48 Crash label :o

they will also be profiling black wire and their "sister-band" the ivories

its being aired sometime mid-october i gather. i'll post the exact date when i find out...

i told him to wear a heartland tee shirt ;) :innocent:

I could so see you in that kind of get up. You'd have to take him some ferrero rochers. Just for extra poshness like.

it was an absolute blast ;D

scratchy cam-phone piccies of the gig here:

http://www.quiffboy.co.uk/coppermine/th ... p?album=14

sadly i missed any piccys of dan's (the singer) the crowd-surfing, pogo-ing, hanging pete-murphy-style from the rafters

i feel i managed to capture his generally energetic, wired, spiggy-ness though ;)

re: the culture show next thursday - look out for interviews with the guys from the band, an acoustic session from the ivories, and an interview with choque hosein (also the producer of gary marx's solo album) 8)
