First and Last and Always gatefold

I should have asked some of you knowledgable lot over this last weekend, but I was too busy having fun:
Over the past few months I've picked up 2 copies of FALAA (gatefold vinyl version) very cheap (less than £5) in mint and near-mint condition, one on Ebay and one from a second-hand record shop here in Brighton.
To be blunt, the low price and the excellent condition is screaming "bootleg" in my mind.
Is anyone aware of the existence of bootleg copies of the gatefold.version of FALAA?
Is there anything I should check for to see if these are bootlegs or the genuine articles?

I don't think the gatefold is *that* rare - it is? Walk Away + flexi is - right?

the thing is a lot of early sisters stuff is relitively easy to find even The Happening has been selling reptile house eps with the insert for 8 quid (15 years ago you would never see it for less than 25). and as time goes on people arnt into collecting like they once were, so the proces of stuff goes down, having said that a regular edition of F&L&A but a spanish pressing sold for something like 150 quid last year.

it's certainly true that the F&L&A gatefold was never *very* rare, and that people aren't collecting them as much as in previous years, but 2 mint/near mint copies in the space of 2 months just seems too suspicious.
Obviously I'd be delighted if they're both genuine, though.

Like buses - none when you need one & loads when you dont
More chance of finding FALAA Gatefold than FALAA Gatefold Autographed or Test Pressing

Enjoy them

I think the official old vinyl prices are gonna drop through the floor to be honest. Cos' (ahem) (whispering) not many people are interested anymore. Bugger
I've got a couple of Gtfld FLA copies I picked up in 91 for £20+ each, and the Walk away with flexi and press-pack which I picked up for a fiver mint. I don't think anything apart from the first sevens, promos and boots will be worth owt within a couple of years.

I agree, Ive seen boots that I bought new for 20 quid (eg disguised in black or satanic verses for example) sell on ebay for a fiver!

I recall that a rash of 'fully autographed' gatefold copies of FALAA flooded the record fairs back in the late 80s. Needless to say the autographs were fakes. Can't recall if they were in silver or gold pen , but beware if you are offered one!

that's about the same price as i remember them going for late eighties- doesnt bother me really as i wouldn't sell any of my sisters records, and if i had to replace them for any unthinkable reason its nice to know that i could.still, i'm surprised at the low prices you see these days.i paid 25p for my FALAA gatefold (sleeve-only) as an ex-display item....which was nice.
