Lurkers

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

There's hundreds. Mainly waiting for Quiff 'Conduit' Boy to scatter the latest scraps of news amidst the cooing pigeons of Sisters fans.

If that means popping in here only now and then to look for news and then being disillusioned, then I confess. I need a good spanking ...

What is it with everyone today? One glance at the word 'naked' in open forum and you all start to reveal your inner thoughts ...

It is quite scary though to think that people will lurk for weeks/months reading the inane drivel we post on here ...and then decide they want to join in?!

People are strange. 8)

i ain't got a problem with lurkers....but theres something suspicious about HLers who are "hidden".
if you want to "lurk" you don't need to be logged in at all and as soon as you post whoever's online is aware of that anyway....and even if you've posted something embarrassing/offensive/whatever and you want to judge the reaction before you post again what exactly do you think is going to happen if your name appears on the index page as "online"? we ain't gonna rush round to your house and string you up (if people were that bothered and knew where you lived it would happen when you were least expecting it anyway. )
Well I was handsome and I was strong
And I knew the words to every song.
"Did my singing please you?"
"No! The words you sang were wrong!"

I was a lurker of Myheartland on and off for three months. I still question why I joined in after reading so much "inane drivel." :innocent:

 Indeed.

It's not a bereavement forum, is it? Can it be that hard to "find the words"...?

I can understand people lurking on Sisters Chat etc. - because there's real information there (as opposed to stream-of-consciousness bollox :innocent: ), but the thought that some people would follow some of the banter in General Chat, but not actually join in... I find kind of funny. Funny ha ha and funny peculiar.

And it makes me exceedingly paranoid about the drivel I spend most of the time talking   .
I started posting here straightaway, didn't really know who was who and so on for a good many months - but maybe there are some out there who are looking into the HL goldfish bowl, and recognise which one's which.

Please don't pour washing up liquid into the water!

Well, I did lurk on General too IIRC, seem to remember I thought you were a funny bunch back then, but did not really know what to add...
Now I don't even care about that anymore
