Which song do you think is the most amphetamine fuelled sisters song?

And can you think of more than five amphetamine fuelled sisters song? For some reason I can only think of three at the moment, I'm sure there's more.

I guess I should of been more clear. I meant sound and lyrics. I believe Afterhours is, because it has the sound and the lyrics, pure amphetamine filth and the most amphetamine fuelled.

i read von say that "kiss the carpet" was an exercise in writing lyrics purely for the sound of the words themselves. however that doesn't preclude those words being about amphetamines; certainly for me the feel of "kiss...." and that of the whole of The Reptile House EP is drenched in speed.

without wanting to enter into debates about lyrics i wouldnt want to say which songs were or werent about speed; but amphetamine fuelled must cover 99% if not all of them.

I can't see any references to speed in Kiss. Just because 1959 And All That say so, I just see it as sex.
I could be wrong, but still.

Doctor Jeep always strikes me as a speed song, or some other stimulant. The comedown being I Was Wrong, then Afterhours as you're awake for days.

So my answer is On The Wire.

Train should be on that list, but since it wasn't I went for Afterhours

Actually, I 'm going to put forward the proposition that Ribbons is quite a speed fuelled song..

Though not the initial rush of speed but rather the effects of being awake for two days when your mind is warped and you begin spouting the most grandious of ideas to an audience that really hasn't got a clue what you're wittering on about and you are borderline speed psychosis..

Not that I have any idea what that feels like....

Exactly. For me, besides the songs mentioned, MORE is the song when I read the lyrics though many of you people might not agree.

In terms of the 'up', then Floorshow, surely? And Body electric? Perhaps even Lucretia (methedrine = methamphetamine, I think?)

In terms of being 'down', strung out, paranoid and perhaps psychotic, then Afterhours, yes, and Ribbons, yes, but also On the Wire, possibly Lights, and definitely Possession.

All great songs, too. Alright, all great songs plus Possession.

Hard to say, but songs like Driver and Detonation Boulevard deserve a mention.

I was going to add some more songs to the poll after getting some suggestions, but it appears that I can't edit the poll.

the only thing they ever did that came close to capturing the sleazy speed-fuelled vibe of (the 82 version of) body electric and adrenochrome...

I said Logic Of the three but there are so many it's difficult to call.

Now, you see, I prefer the remake of Body Electric.
That 12" single seems to describe, to me anyway, a goth night whilst on speed.
