BAUHAUS MINNEAPOLIS

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

Hi there
Just returned home after seeing Bauhaus in Minneapolis....what a show! Anyone who has not already got there tickets for the UK tour should have a rethink. It was very different to the Resurrection tour, a lot less theatrical, more stripped down..and the venue (State Theatre) was the perfect place for the Bauhaus experience....a 1920's vauderville/picture palace.
My wife was over the moon as she got Kevins drum sticks from the show...autographed!
We were definately seen by the people of Minneapolis as a bit of a novelty.... I think we were the only English people in the city, and at one point mistaken for coming from Iceland!
Anyway, enjoy the upcoming shows

Can you remember any of the set list?.

The ones I can remember are below...possibly not in the right order. The songs they chose differed quit a lot from the Resurrection shows, with some more obscure choices

Burning from the Inside
In the Flat Field
A God in an Alcove
In Fear of Fear
Terror Couple Kill Colonel
Swing the Heartache
She's in Parties
The Passion of Lovers
Silent Hedges
Kick in the eye
Hollow Hills
Rosegarden Funeral of Sores
Stigmata Martyr
Hair of the Dog

Dark Entries

Encore 1:
Slice of Life
Telegram Sam
Ziggy Stardust

Encore 2:
Bela Lugosi's Dead

I'm glad "Bela Lugosi's Dead" is being played last as I fear I may die of excitment whan I hear it live and would hate to miss the rest  .
Would love also to hear - Severance, The Passion of Lovers, Boys.

Mask was played during the October/November 1981 tour
Dim, through the misty panes and thick green light,
As under a green sea, I saw him drowning.

top set-list indeed.
Well I was handsome and I was strong
And I knew the words to every song.
"Did my singing please you?"
"No! The words you sang were wrong!"

Without wishing to rain on your parade Ms Emily, I will warn you in advance that Alexandra Palace is the worst venue in London by a long shot. I saw The Stripes there last November and apart from the mile walk up the hill (take your trainers and change) from the train station in the rain (that always gets you in gig mode) it's in the middle of nowhere. On a hill. Hence the captive market price of £3.00 for a bottle of water at the bar. Which nobody needed as the place has no heating. I think the cloak room made about 50p that night. The acoustics are sh!t as well. You're welcome.

Ever considered taking up a position as a motivational speaker Johnny? I foresee great things...;)

Most notably a great rise in voluntary redundancy :innocent:

sorry Emms

gotta agree with Johnny...Alexandra Palace is a bastard to get to...and a crap venue once inside...(messer Manson :urff: i would have preferred the Stripes  )

should suit the talented young men called the darkness down to the ground
