Has anyone else noticed the similarity between David Bowie’s Golden Years and The Sisters Of Mercy’s Afterhours?
The studio effect and way Andrew Eldritch says the word “angel in Afterhours is a direct copy of the way David Bowie says the word “angel in Golden Years.
I guess you could call it an allusion to Golden Years, but why would Von referance this song? Perhaps he just liked the sound of the studio effect.

Yes. But this time more so.
I think the influence is strongly apparent at times, though other times I don't hear any resemblence at all.nick the stripper wrote:streamline wrote:but hasn't our leader been copying Bowie vocally since the year dot?

I would not call it copying, well maybe in this case he does. I'd rather say that is influenced.streamline wrote:but hasn't our leader been copying Bowie vocally since the year dot?
