Have you converted to the philosophy of Mr Johnny Déscartes - "I post therefore I am" - or something?

I could say something really condescending like "You younguns wouldn't understand" but us parents are far too mature to take such cheap shots.

I deserve the cheap shots. I almost attributed the paraphrasal to Kant

"something wonderful" a sample from the movie 2001, is used on a Revolting Cocks track from the epic Beers, Steers+Qveers called Something Wonderful, nes pas?

So, will he be remembered as a drunken philanderer or a footballing genius?
I knew I should've kept me Bestie footie boots...

I don't ever recall a memory of the two being mutually exclusive

for our generation at least he'll be remembered for both. i'm sure in 50 years time it will only be the football; you rarely hear about stanley matthews hellraisig debauchery these days.

Feel I should apologise on behalf of decent Leeds fans for the chanting during the minutes' silence on Saturday
It wasn't entirely unexpected - I could go into how Man Utd fans have taunted Leeds in the past, but it won't get us anywhere. Slightly pissed off that only the Leeds chanting got a mention, when there were a few other disturbances up and down the country - Man City, Tottenham and (I believe) Wigan.
Anyway, sorry. I'd like to say it won't happen again, but...

No need to apologise Norm, hardly unexpected, like you say. We've got used to it since '59 (I believe the country was united in sadness for at least a year).
So back to business
How exactly have we taunted you in the past? By winning stuff, and buying your best player? Fair do's then.
The Best thing is understandable though, to some degree. Pretty soon they'll be having a minute's silence everytime Beckham stubs his toe.

Man City were playing Liverpool, not one, but two teams not exactly known for their admiration of Man Utd; I heard that the "minute's silence" at (I was going to type Maine Road then...) The City Of Manchester Ground lasted 18 seconds?

sad to see a few members of the low iq brigade blackening the name of all decent football fans yet again.
