It takes twelve bees their entire lives to make a teaspoonful of honey.

Well I was handsome and I was strong
And I knew the words to every song.
"Did my singing please you?"
"No! The words you sang were wrong!"

Bees kind of scare me. I think it's Terry Pratchett's fault, with the suggestion that a hive has a mind, made up of all the bees within that hive. Kind of like our minds are made up of all our brain cells, but a bit more distributed.
Our old biology teacher when I was at school kept a couple of hives. It's weird the way the bees seem to recognise their humans. Beekeeping is done by magic.

The fundamental cause of the trouble is that in the modern world the stupid are cocksure while the intelligent are full of doubt.

Keep in mind that there are billions and billions of them in one hive. A single man couldn't build a Volvo from scratch in a lifetime. That's why there are billions and billions of workers in one Volvo factory, and only a few of them gets to mate with the Volvo queen. Not sure if there's any honey involved but I imagine there could be...
