I'd really like to see the Sister's back catalogue re-mastered and re-released. Similar to what was done with The Cure's first four albums and The Banshee's 'The Scream'.

Nice double disc remasters. Especially FALAA and Floodland.

I have no idea what would be put on the second disc. I doubt Eldo is proud of his demos enough to include them, not to mention they're already widely available. Maybe some live stuff? Alternate versions? Uncompiled b-sides (reproducing Some Boys Wander By Mistake)?

Honestly, I could care less what's on the second disc so much as getting the albums re-mastered. Not to mention a move like this might re-kindle interest in the Sisters. A good move if they were ever to release a new album!

Don't know, think I'd rather see anything new than just something we've heard over and over again already really...

That been said, wouldn't mind if they'd throw it in as a bonus or to draw attention to themselves

Yeah, I'd like to hear a new album too, of course...

But re-masters seem a lot more feasible, don't they? Not to mention they're in dire need anyway!

I didn't mean to make it sound like I'd PREFER re-masters to a new album--more like, "Hell, at this point, I'd be happy if they gave us something new--ANYTHING."

I'd like to see the B-Sides compiled as "A Slight Case..." Volume 2. Poison Door, On the Wire, Blood Money, etc, need to be on an official release

i made my own (better) version of "some boys..." and called it that.

the last thing i would want is remasters -floodland and vision thing are a lot more modern recordings than the early cure/siouxsie stuff and are perfect production wise. FALAA has already been remastered and what a balls-up they made of that.

How many "Best of"'s and "Remastered"'s have there been for Siouxie and co?Seems like theres one yearly..
Seems a bit unlikely there will be another for The Sisters,the fanbase has probably shrunk a bit too much to make it financially feasible.Anyway,who would be financing it?Eldritch/Merciful Release?Fat chance..East West?Unlikely..leaves someone like Cleopatra or Metropolis,and that would guarantee an Eldritch girly hissy fit..

I do have one question that maybe someone can answer me.On his official site,Eldritch sneers at "10th rate Goth bands" covering Sisters material on compilation albums,and saying they can f**k off.But theres tons of them,one recently called "First and last and forever" for example featuring a lot of German non-entities.Surely Eldritch had to give his approval for this,so is it another example of Eldritch not practising what he preaches (like playing Mera Luna "Europes premier Dark event"),or is his back catalogue owned by Warner/East West and it being done without his consent?

As I said previously elsewhere, if you cover a song litterally you don't need to ask for permission, because you don't get publishing money from it anyway. It's enough to write the songwriter/lyricist and the publisher on the record-sleeve.
Eldritch didnt have to ask "Hot Chocolate" for permission, so "First and Last and Whoever" doesnt need to ask Eldritch for permission.

And anyway, didn't he sell the rights to Warner/East West to buy himself that white Mercedes?

Only interesting thing could be what the "final" versions of the Vision Thing tracks sound like (unless there's a boot out there that I'm probably not aware of..)

If I remember the Man said that a lot of the stuff on the album was still "rough mixes"..

I mean all those months at a mixing desk must have produced a wealth of versions...

IIRC either Tony or Andreas said that there were hundreds of "different" mixes that only could tell the difference between. Hence the album going way over budget and way over deadline.

The Man also said that besides the new songs we all know there is more new material not suitable for live performance. I recently had a talk with Obviousman about this. Now I'm really curious about these songs and find it hard to understand why these wouldn't be suitable to perform them live.

So many demos or mixes from the early days but these days....nothing....

Does anyone know anything about these songs?

Besides that...anything officially would be nice but I prefer a record with the new and unreleased songs. That DVD would be nice as well.

Those were the words he used indeed.

I just found it in my collection of interviews. He used the words in the Channel 4 interview (John Earls) dated January 18, 2001:

"John Earls: How would you describe your new songs?
AE: The ones we play live are stonking. We're saving a few less gung-ho numbers for the album. They're maybe not the best thing to play in our current live stonkathon. We'll play as many new ones as we can get away with on the tour."

The only new song performed since then is "Slept" which does not seem to be less gung-ho. So there others and I'd love to here the other songs but I guess you all would.

I suggest a double disc:The sisters of mercy play the greatest hits of ABBA and Hot chocolate.With W**** H***** and AE duetting "I'll put you together again" by Hot chocolate.That'll be great.
Nobody needs another boring b-side compilation.

b-sides complilations (and to date there isn't one -SGWBM is more "the independent years" really) are only boring if you have all the b-sides...and even then it's nice to get them on official cd.
A Slight Case of Overbombing...now that's a boring concept and not worth it just for Body And Soul on official cd.
