San Diego - House Of Blues - 17th Feb

Seperate threads for seperate gigs makes sense.
Myself (UK-based) and Ms Pope (Southern Cali-based) are making the effort.
Who else is coming out to play?

I'll be there, and so will Cyn - who's very kindly offered to put me up for the night.

Doing Las Vegas and probably Phoenix (if that is still happening, I'm not sure these days). San Diego depends on the roads but I'd like to.

Find I-5 and point your car south.

The boy Wim has added "hire Hummer" and "drive to San Diego" to the travel itinerary so it looks like it's on. Rock on.

Of course it makes sense. Probably driving on to Phoenix too, hopefully via a lunch stop in Mexico on the way.

Word of warning.
If you ARE actually planning on getting a hire car in the US, you'll probably find that driving it over the border to Mexico is
not allowed
Make sure you check your rental agreements carefully.
You'll either not be allowed over the border in it or all of your very pricey insurance will be void should anything untoward happen to it, as Mexico is 'allegedly' full of "geezers"

We know, which is why any Mexico trip (if at all) would involve leaving the car in the USA.

Yeah, it's a bit vague and I'm probably being totally unrealistic about how long it may take and where along the route we could cross. I keep forgetting it's not like the EU.

We managed to book into the Westin Horton Plaza Hotel in the Gaslamp 1/4 & just a few blocks from HOB...not cheap mind... £140 a night for a double
but we're just suckers for the Westin Heavenly beds
There's the Comfort Inn Downtown, five blocks from Gaslamp 1/4, that's £51.89 a night on hotels.com. Staying any further out results in expensive taxi fares from memory. We stayed in La Jolla once and went into San Diego. The cab back was nearly more than the hotel !

Nah, id do it. I live in SD, and we have MINI blocks... 5 blocks will take you 8-10 minutes depending on traffic conditions.
Forget this taxi stuff...
Plus, its SD for Chreests sake... its 70F degrees out.
Youll save a lot.
