a) It isn't exclusively online
b) It's being operated by an organisation with actual lobbying power unlike most online petitions

petitions change nothing. never have, never will. at best they get you a chance to stand outside number ten before some flunky files your efforts in the nearest bin.
on the plus side, they are a great way of assuaging your middle class guilt with minimum effort.
