hi,
I was wondering if any of you good people knew whether the Sisters Wake, Shot and Rev 2.0 videos were ever going to be brought into the 21st Century with a DVD release?
Also, given the current trend of "deluxe editions" with extra tracks blah, blah, blah, any thoughts on Floodland and F&L&A being re-issued in this format?
Thanks in advance for any information.
Cheers

a friend of a friend has recently been looking into this kind of thing, and they say wea dont give a crap about their uk bact catalogue anymore. unless its the multimillion selling artists on their roster.
the rights to the majority of their back catalogue can be purchased for a comparitively (phe)nominal fee.
eldritch
could, if so disposed, buy back the rights to all the wea sisters stuff, remaster and rerelease.
so yes, it is possible that the audio stuff could resurface without wea's being bothered by it all, should andy have the time, motivation and/or the cash.
alternatively, if a label with enough credibility and sufficient distribution power were interested, maybe they could give mr e. a helping hand? or a kick up the arse...
maybe they could take care of the paperwork side of stuff, and the purchasing of the rights from wea (so herr eldritch could keep his hands clean on that one...), and organise studio time and resources for the remastering work, so that it could be re-released through Merciful Release, with MR back as an indie label again... in doing so, this would help MR back onto its feet and make it a fuctioning label, rather than the memory of a label...
not sure exactly how the wake video fits into this as thats polygram, i think
but yeah, the wake and the shot rev2 vids on one legit, commercially available dvd would be rather nice.
as i say, i understand a friend of a friend has *very* recently been looking into this kind of thing... interesting timing there, mr wretched. you wouldnt happen to know my mate would you?

hi Quiff Boy
LOL I don't know your friend
although that's at least two of us seeking answers to the same questions!
I'm just revisiting my youth and even at 35 still find TSOM are a damn good listen, and I always enjoyed them live - however was too young to go the Wake gig.
I'm in a nostaligic musical mood at the moment and the sisters albums seem so much more relevant for proper re-issue than some of the other's that are being released as supposed "classics". however, even as a fan I don't want Vision Thing (sorry!)
Thanks for your input thuogh, if your friend comes up with any info I would be grateful if you would let me know.
Cheers

hi
i run a small record label and did try to get in touch with mr eldritch to see about trying to release an official live album a few years aog, but never got a response.
I doubt I'd be able to come up with the funds for the re-issues and DVd's though, sadly!
Cheers

You'd be wasting your time, everyone bootlegs live perfomances anyway.
And Eldritch is too much of a c**t to listen to any label that wouldn't give him millions of dollars for a few crap AOR records.

Redundancy, darling. "Any Label" is surely a broad enough term to describe those who wouldn't give someone 3 million for crap AOR

Reading the TSOM faq's you will find out that our beloved Eldo is not interested in releasing a live cd.
And indeed the 3 million story...

I must say I was impressed with the Mizsions DVD. There you had a concert with good sound, promo videos (my Lord what were they thinking dressing up like that), interviews and a nicely put together biography section.
A product like that with the Sister would sell and promote itself. Almost. After all, they're a bigger band than the Mishion. Hope springs eternal...

Hi
agreed, it was that DVD of the Mish, that realy sparked my question about the previous videos anyway.
However, I was a little disappointed in the live gig on the Mish DVD though, updated versions with bit more of a rock tinge were ok, but the original versions would've been nicer. Hey Ho you can't have everything!

Aren't the Mish releasing Crusade, From Dusk to Dawn and Waves on the Sand each as separate dvds?
Shame they won't release em all in a nice single package at the Nephs did a few years ago!

I will show up to work at my office (in the United States) stark raving nude, leaving a trail of black rose petals in my wake.
Knowing Von's political leanings, I'm sure he'd release the thing if someone could reschedule the 2008 presidential election for January of next year.

It has to be in the Kop on a match day. You can't just wear it in your house.
