"Adam blocking new releases"

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

This is a concept I hear referred to frequently but have yet to see the basis of it - would a kind soul please point me in the right direction?

thank you, and good night.

Copy-pasted from the 2003 BBC interview transcript available on

http://www.the-sisters-of-mercy.info/pr ... _bbc6.html:

"G: There are people e-mailing saying "when's the next cd coming out that I can buy?", because it's been a while, Andrew.
AE: We keep offering stuff to record companies; they keep turning it down!

G: That's their fault?
AE: *inspires deeply* It's definitely their fault.

G: Is there a way you could get it out, on the internet or whatever?
AE: Ermmm... No, actually, cause my latest stuff is co-written with Adam. He won't let us release any of that for free. We won't let us use any of that for promo purposes. I'd have to sell that to a major record label or it doesn't come out at all. So at the moment we're recording all the other things and we have actually started putting things on the net. Bits and bobs. "

And now Adam's gone we should all be checking Kazaa and other dubious sources for "Bits and bobs" we've not yet heard. 8)

There was a track called "Asssasin Soul" (which I mentioned a while back in another post somewhere on this Forum) but there seems to be some doubt if it was actually The Sisters Of Mercy or not . There are lots of tracks on P2P networks which have "sisters" as the artist when it's Tainted Love by Marylin Manson or whoever.

I think Assasin Soul is by TSOM, sounds like von's voice, bass sounds like Doktor Avalanche and the drum machine sounds like it was programmed by Porl King from Rosetta Stone IMHO. Even if it isn't by The Sisters, it is still an excellent song in it's own right.

[slightly off topic] Dear Herr Administrator, I've just realised that the lovely photo that serves as your current avatar is on of the 659 photos that once got lost in the private tsunami, and one of the 14 that are still missing.
The thing is, I can't remember where I used to have it from.
Link??? :? :notworthy:

Thanks for telling me - still a great track even if it isn't The Sisters!
