Mailman - mailing list software - help wanted

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

i know its an outside shot but has anyone here ever use "mailman" mailing list software?

Image

its the same thing that dominion runs on 8)

i'm trying to set up a mailing list for one of the sites i run, and it seems to be kinda working, but i want it to be "read only"

basically, i want:

- users can subscribe/subscribe through a form on the website
- only administrators can make posts to the list

all posts from non-administrators should be deleted.

this would mean that the list would be like an "annoucnements" list... for mailshots etc

i just cant get it to be "read only" for non-admin users :(

any ideas? i'm using mailman version 2.1.6 :?

might drop -bat an email :?

We're running it here for announcements and mail shoots to clients. There is an option that allows for moderator approval on all mails sent, which probably what you're looking for
