Manchester TBA!

Just got back from a storming Bauhaus gig at Mcr Academy- some students or other were handing out flyers saying:

"The Sisters of Mercy. Coming Soon - late April/early May - date TBA."

Nice.

Gripper :D

Hmmm, I wonder if they'll be paying a visit to the Birmingham Academy.

Fingers, legs and other body parts crossed.

MOST nice indeed. Not seen the girls in my hometown since the Apollo gig, but this time...although a night in my adopted hometown might scotch it, costwise.

Either way, storming news. I can safely forget worrying about Paris. :D

I reckon it's time to get excited. The Gary Numan show is legit and the venue aren't gonna hand out misleading flyers. Obviously no date set yet but they (the venue) must have been approached or something, and the timing fits in with the rest of the tour. Anyway, if the sisters are coming to the UK forget Manchester they've gotta play LEEDS, wey hey!

Indeed. But the gig better bloody not be at Blank f**king Canvas again!

Leeds Uni or Poly is my bet.

Count the Sisters 16-2-91 t-shirts in any case ;)

von has connections with the blank canvas people (via the cockpit, and the leeds old-boy network)

i think the blank canvas people came to him with the original gig x 2 idea.

which could suggest that it wouldnt have been somewhere he'd have chosen off his own back.

who knows. there is a distinct shortage of good venues in leeds, so he's going to have to take whats out there and available when he wants it :?

Does Andrew have any saying at all in which venues they will be playing, isn't that the organizers/promoters job?
Except for Near Meth Experience and anniversary gigs .. just wondering..

its my understanding that since they sacked whatsisface from the reptile house (that chap with the swedish sounding name?), and RH itself "down-scaled", andrew is the organiser :D

Nice :D

So, when you're sitting in an office at a venue, you could get a phone from :von: anytime, to ask if he can play a gig at your place?

not sure. suppose so

ihe may not be the sole organiser but i'm pretty sure he plays a major role in working with the promotors to choose venues and schedules.

i ust hope he's got the band abd crew's u.s. visas now

I always thought Andrew in his turn contacted organizers and let them do the work in searching for venues and come up with a deal. Like House of Blues, Clear Channel, Luger (for Sweden), Scorpio Concerts, Mean Fiddler etc etc.

Anyway, it seems Andrew is working very hard to make all these connections and making deals, therefore a lot of credit to him. ;)

Indeed, it seems like he's doing a great job, but also a hard one. Combine that with the gazillions of gigs coming up, and... wow

Who took over the London office from Nick Jones? (he told me he painted the whole office black (even the phone! ) and :von: just loved it :D )

 going off topic!
