hmmm...
YAY! Knew
would do A'dam!
Yes, call it more like my back yard and on Queen's Day
It is BUSY in A'dam on the 30th and there is no way I'm going to see
The Sisters of Mercy in
orange!
@ Karst - Melkweg is on the smallish side but maybe it is supposed to be an intimate affair?!

nah, not the Sisters in Orange (again)... quelle horreur! Anyway, Queensday and the Sisters, what a wonderful combo.
and Karst, they do the Max, where the max. capacity is 1000.

would be nice to go, if it wasn't for the distance.
I'm NOT doing this with my car and trains don't ride at night
finding a hotel myself, I have a bad feeling about that

Quote from the Queensday website:
"Koninginnedag zal dit jaar op 29 april zijn in plaats van 30 april. Het lijkt misschien raar, maar dit wordt gedaan omdat Koninginnedag anders op een zondag zou vallen. Dit houdt in dat alle activiteiten natuurlijk ook op 29 april vallen, dus de vrijmarkt, de optredens en alle andere activiteiten worden ook op deze dag gehouden. Natuurlijk verschuift Koninginnenacht ook een nachtje, om precies te zijn naar vrijdag 28 april."
For non Dutch speakers it means that Queens day will be on the 29 April.
Means plenty of room in hotels and on trains... Sweet of them not wanting to clash with The Sisters
See you all then.

april 29th queensday... getting wasted, having a headache the night the sisters perform... Maybe not a good combination. Hope to find a place in Amsterdam for living permanently, hopefully before the Sisters perform... otherwise i probably have to go back by train :S.
edit: some other people from the northern part of Holland?

How can they be playing the Melkweg with a capacity of 1000 when in 2003 they played the HMH capacity 9000 apparently over 6000 attending!

just wanted to order tickets
web site (ticketmaster) says:
Kategorie
- Best beschikbaar
- Rang 1 (Excl. Servicekosten)
(to be chosen by drop down menue)
What does that mean? Two different categories of tickets? Anyone who speaks dutch out there?
Any recommendations for a cheap hotel in the city with parking facility?

I do
Category:
- Best available
- First rank (Service costs exclusive)
Normally only one available, I'll check that out for you, but IIRC it was the same for the Tilburg gig last year. (They misspelled Category though
)
EDIT: I see it, it's a standard drop-down menu, and you
can have several categories, and whenever you select best you'd get the best, which is in this case the only one available
