Paul Green School of Arseholes morelikeThe Butthole Surfers wrote:The classic '80s lineup of Gibby Haynes, Paul Leary, Jeff Pinkus and the twin drumming King Coffey and Teresa Taylor will be playing all upcoming dates. Get your psych on, fools.
Joining the band for all show will be The Paul Green School of Rock All-Stars. This mob of teenage geniuses will blow your mind, forming a virtual Butthole Surfers Orchestra when they play with the band.
There was nae butthole's, just starfish, if ye get ma drift
If the original line-up came on stage we must have blinked, cos we didnae see 'em once!Quiff Boy wrote:i'm confused

what happened? sounds very pretentious
**EDIT** Just found this - http://www.drownedinsound.com/articles/3324012
It just downplays the whole Scool of Rock element and ignores the fact that Gibby said that he, Theresa and Paul won't even be playing the whole time.

We were treated to some kids playing cover versions of The Immigrant Song, Protect and Survive, ABC (yep that one!) and various others, they then went off, came back on and played as the Butthole Surfers for an hour and a half. Lights up, game over.

One good thing was that the "MacHeartland Original Lineup" met up and had a good chinwag

I've never heard the Butthole Surfers before so I wasn't too bothered that they were s**t. It just made for a rather expensive night out, but the company was worth it (as was the Thai curry I picked up on the way home).

So did Gibby et al make any appearance at all? I'm .
I was tempted to go see them in Wolverhampton tomorrow but it's not sounding promising.....

I thought that this was another Currently pissed at thread.... (Maybe in another 900+ posts in the other it will become one, if the search function is alive and kicking up to speed.)
James, I saw them a couple of time back in the 1980s. Performance-wise, interesting if only for the film projected behind them. Was that a castration on the screen? The two drummers could get it going something wild for a bit. What were they on? Other than that, I never felt that it was a grand performance worth seeing again. Somehow I ended up seeing them another time or two. Honesty, you got robbed, but you may not have gotten much more had they played.

But(t).... why?
I can see the joke, really, but this is just ripping off people. It would have been nice to give people half their money back on exit, now THAT I would understand

My brother was a huge fan of the butties back in the 80's, he used to follow them all over the UK.
His bedroom would be blasting out tuneless noise from this lot, Swans/Live Skull/UT/Shockheaded Peters etc. I could barely hear the Sisters & Smiths that I was playing in my own room!

I'm seething because of airport security not wanting not to scan my films. I now have three rolls of film which are completely worthless, only a handful of more or less usable though blacked out shots And I'm quite sure it's not my light metering techniques as I had a roll of B&W developed locally which came out fine.
