Damn :(

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

Listen, champ, neglect is one of my favourite words.

Here's to families long dead.

I hear Eldo hasn't seen his mother "in 15 years".

You have to work at being a family, otherwise the unity you had while you were a child, dependent on your parents for everything and inseparable from their day-to-day life, simply ceases to figure.

It is a fact of life that not all friendships or relationships will last forever.

What any of this has to do with your original post, I have no idea.
.... there is no semblance of rock 'n roll around here!

Get her a ticket and bring her with you. She can sit in the corner with the rest of us geriatrics.

It's a shame you won't be able to buy me that drink, but I think your gran's probably slightly more important to you than that. Or maybe we could pile round to hers for the after-gig party. :P
And you know that she's half crazy but that's why you want to be there.

I saw the Sisters both nights when they played in Leeds on the last tour, and they were crap both nights. Go and see your granny while she's still on this earth.

The Sisters may, or may not play again after this set of dates.

Your granny sure as hell won't be having another 80th birthday party. Of course she says "No, you go to your pop concert", it's what granny's do.

Do the right thing.

Go see your granny in the morning, go to the gig straight afterwards.
Is that possible?
Well if it's not, then go see your granny the day before. ;D
That's what I'd do.

Yeah, she'll understand her grandson's a selfish low-life.

Ruffers is spot on here. No arguments. It's not like the Sisters are even that good live, on the evidence of their last tour.

Shame your grandma and family can't all go to see the Sisters.

Mind you, the idea of an 80 year old singing along to "Vision Thing"...

Well if I was a granny I'd hate to see my grandson or granddaughter or anyone being made to face such a dillema. If they had doubts, I'd order them to go to the gig (or bikers assembly or bungee jumping competition or whatever it would be). But that's me.

Personally if you don't go and see your Granny for what quite obviously is a milestone birthday, you'll regret it in years to come. Choosing a band (who I'm sure you'd see again anyway) over this is quite selfish in my little honest opinion.

same here to be honest. but then we are children of a rock and roll age - presumably his granny isn't and may not understand his passion for a band... :?

The test is whether one does the right thing, or does the selfish thing and hides behind the "order".

Not sure why I'm getting quite so agitated about this, but I am! :urff:
