Re: Gap between gigs.

My first ever gig was ska revival band, Bad Manners at Leeds Polytechnic. I was only 12 or 13 which would make it 1982 or 83 but I don't have the actually date & when I decided to make a list of all the gigs I've attended, a couple of years ago, I sadly couldn't find the date of this first gig a...

How long after release can we discuss it openly, without spoliler alerts. I mean, if you haven't read it within a month of release, is it our fault?

I wonder if Danny Mass/Horigan, was given an advance heads up, about his part in the book?

I intended saving it to read on holiday in August but cracked on Monday and am currently mid way through the Sisters section. It's a great read, I'm really enjoying it. ***Minor spoiler alert/question below*** > > > > > > > > Am I they only one that wasn't aware of the Von/Wayne meeting at Wembley a...

Is "Nobody really ever leaves The Sisters" some kind of hint? Probably not, but still... I thought that that was a really odd parting comment, coming after the point about the different work ethic/need to work, between Chris & Von. "It's time to return to life outside the Sisters...

"how much he wants to work isn’t concordant with how much I want and need to." Surely the above, has to be a reference to a lack of recording by the Sisters? Maybe there have been demos recorded over the last 14 years which led Chris to believe that a record would eventually be forthcomi...

It sounds pretty generic 'alternative rock' to me, not dissimilar to Anne Maries solo album of a few years ago that seemed to vanish without trace pretty quickly.

Good luck to them but you can see why Stan was a bit pi**ed off late last year, as this does appear to have happened very quickly

Another great read.

I have no idea regarding the date but I can't imagine that a bank holiday would make the gig that less likely, surely gigs happen on every bank holiday somewhere?

Love the Introduce Yourself album and caught the Mosley era line up a couple of times in 1988.

The Real Thing was a great album too with Patton but thought it was a more straight forward rock album, as opposed to the general crazyiness of Introduce Yourself.

A belated RIP Chuck.

Surely there is every chance that the band will still be playing live in 4 years time which would take us up to the 40th anniversary. I wonder if Von would see that as an obvious point to wrap things up & say goodbye? Then again, it would be classic Von, to pack it in a year or two later, ...

Additional ticket fees are the number 1 for me. It's basically impossible to pay the face value and has been for decades but it's got progressively worse over time. A £28 ticket is inevitably going to end up costing at least £31.50 these days, even if bought from the ticket office, or printed at h...

March Violets. Only really got into them post split (the final one) in the late 80s. Kept meaning to catch the reformed band including the York Fulford Arms gig a couple of years ago but sadly didn't make the effort, as It was a week night. Sadly due to Simon's ill health, I've probably blown the ch...

I've always viewed it as nothing more than gentle Micky taking based on the split TBH. I was a Sisters fan first but also love the Mish. I saw them numerous times 88-91 but then lost interest when McCoy went all death metal with that dreadful Zoon album. Saw them on the tour with The Mish in 2013 & thought that they were superb & so went to see them at Whitby in 2014 & 2015 which were both great gigs too. From those three...

good question. i think its partly down to who exactly leaves... If Hussey (Marx, Gunn) had tried to make the band his own I have little doubt that it would have fallen flat on its arse. Silence is platinum wrote:Τhe Pogues did an album without Shane which i think no one remembers, the frontman is always the most important member of a group.
To be fair, I think Tuesday Morning single from the Shane free album, was The Pogues most successful single, other than the obvious Fairytale of New York.

Hmmmmm, I was never a fan of it to be honest. Would much prefer to hear one or maybe two more of their own songs instead.

Same with The Mish, when they used to stretch Shelter from the Storm to 10 minutes plus with loads of dodgy ad-libs.
